Activity group expectations 2011/12

For the new academic year, Salford Sport Groups (SSGs) and Student Activity Groups (SAGs) will have expectations which the group/s must meet.

Salford Sport Groups Expectations:

What will SSGs be expected to do? What can you expect from the students' union?
• Minimum of 10 members
• Complete an up to date constitution
• Create an annual group development plan
• Show club progression through performance, funding, development etc as highlighted on the plan
• Complete a financial/budget plan for the coming year including ALL projected costs
• Produce an up to date committee list
• Attend committee training
• Run a stall at Activities Fair during Welcome Week
• Monitor your own memberships online, and ensure each member has a membership card
• Update your minisite regularly
• Have at least one meeting per semester with ADU to discuss group development
• Attend activities collectives (one per semester)
• Attend the Students' Union AGM
• Hold a group AGM yearly
• Provide/arrange and pay for any match officials required
• Nominate students for awards at the Students' Union Annual Awards
• Attend Rec Nights (where applicable)
• Opportunity to achieve the student life award
• Have a group photo taken
• Have a committee member be responsible for H&S of the group
• Have a committee member be responsible for E&D of the group
• Hold events and activities suitable to the group (where applicable)
• Support the Union and its activities through elections, the bar and the shops
• Attend and support the students' union bar for social events after Wednesday fixtures and for fundraising events
• A dedicated ADU
• Continued and improved level of support through ADU (events, group development planning)
• Annual Student Activity timeline
• A minisite and the appropriate training to use it
• Your own group email account
• Admin support through general office and finance
• Insurance
• Activities Collective
• Room bookings (free of charge) in SU rooms
• Access to Bar Yours and Café Yours for events
• Committee training
• Recreational social events (Rec Night)
• Group pictures
• Students’ Union Annual Awards
• Activities Fair
• A fair opportunity to bid for a annual budget (for a variety of projected activities/events/kit that are deemed to be for the benefit of the club) including access to bid into the kit fund for specialist equipment that is essential for the running of the group
• Entry to BUCS fixtures and competition
• Cost of transport to BUCS competitions
• Match day and training facilities
• Team playing kits
• Team playing kits washed on a weekly basis
• Affiliation to NGBs (club - not individual)
• Club coaching support for up to 2 hours a week
• Opportunity to purchase leisure wear
• Access to specialist Leisure centre classes
• Support with first aid/coaching/officiating opportunities
• Kit insurance   
• Access to free hire of the union goods van 
* All of the above, subject to discussion. Anything further will be discussed on an individual group basis*

 

 Student Activity Groups Expectations:
 

What will SAGs be expected to do? What can you expect from the students' union?
• Have a minimum of 10 members
• Charge a minimum fee of £1 per member (all of which will be for the SAG)
• Complete an up to date constitution
• Create an annual group development plan
• Complete a financial/budget plan for the coming year including ALL projected costs
• Produce an up to date committee list
• Attend committee training
• Run a stall at Activities Fair during Welcome Week
• Monitor your own memberships online, and ensure each member has a membership card
