Representing You
Making sure that students’ voices are represented to the University is one of the most important things we do as your Students’ Union. Based on feedback from students throughout the University, the Union will campaign to change University policy and practices, aiming to make a positive difference to Salford students’ lives.

Student Activities
Looking to meet new people, develop a new interest or keep up a hobby? The Union has over 40 clubs and societies you can get involved in, from performing arts to snow sports. And don’t worry if you don’t think you’ll have the time to commit to a club or society – we’re introducing a range of activity classes where you can just turn up and give it a go.

Entertainment & Socialising
The Students’ Union holds a range of exciting entertainment events throughout the year. Students who enjoy clubbing will find a packed programme of events at The Pav, our nightclub at the Castle Irwell Student Village. If you fancy something quieter, you can socialise in Café Yours – it’s ideal for those of you looking for a relaxed, stylish, alcohol-free setting. Or there’s Bar Yours for a relaxing drink, a game of pool or to watch the sport. Our venues are unique – they’re all designed specifically for Salford students, providing you with affordable, safe, comfortable places to meet friends and make new ones.

Advice & Support
As well as making sure there are opportunities for you to have fun at University, we want to provide you with all the support you need. The Students’ Union has an advice centre offering free, professional advice on a range of areas, from issues related to your course to accommodation and finance. Whatever problem you might be facing, our friendly and supportive staff are here to help. We’re independent from the University, but share a close working relationship, which means that we can act as your arbiter to resolve any issues.

Remember, this is your Students’ Union and we’re keen for you to get involved. You decide who will be running the Union by voting in our annual elections. There are also a range of opportunities if you fancy a more active role – you could represent the views of those on your course to the University as part of our Student Representation system, for instance. We also hold regular events where you can make your views known to those running the Union.
