Salford battled Manchester University at the 38th annual Two Cities Boat Race on Saturday 9 May. Our team won two of the six races – the winning teams were the Women’s Senior and Mixed Alumni. The crews competed along the traditional River Irwell course, starting at Sam Platts Pub and finishing at the Lowry Bridge.
The Two Cities Boat Race is now recognised as one of the top events in the region's sporting calendar. Money raised during the race will be donated to SPARKS, the children's medical research charity.
Salford’s team have been in intensive training for many weeks and are supported by the Union’s new Student Activities Development Unit. The Unit works to ensure that there are a wide range of activities you can get involved in while you’re studying at Salford, whatever your time commitments or abilities.
